Our Chance to Help Make Salthill Even More Beautiful

Next Tuesday evening, 28 June, from 6 to 8pm there is an opportunity for us Salthill people to help to make village even more attractive.  A group of volunteers is getting together to ‘attack’ and re-vitalise the centre roundabout (opposite Seapoint) and to pretty it up.  All are welcome to come along and lend a hand. Volunteers don’t need to come for the full two-hour slot – any time contribution will be welcomed and appreciated.

We are launched!

Good meeting last night in the Galway Bay hotel with plenty of input, ideas, positivity and realism - a good mixture and a good start!  We were heartened to have four of our local councillors, Catherine Connolly, Hildegarde Naughton, Neil McNeilus and Peter Keane (and apologies from Donal Lyons)  with us and their offers of support are very welcome.  Deputy Eamon O'Cuiv also offered his support. The Steering Group that is going to progress the project are Roger O'Sullivan, Tom White, Edwin Brennan, Attracta O'Connor, Eoin McCormack, Tommy Roddy and Cathleen Hartnett and this Group will meet next week.  Roger O'Sullivan of the Galleon, a member of the Steering Group, has generously offered to host meetings of the Group.  Thanks to the Galway Bay Hotel who provided refreshments and a room last night, Padraig O'Sabhain who facilitated the meeting and the local media for publicising the event.  Watch this space for developments!  If anyone has any ideas or comments please text/call us at 087 2929793 or email us at salthillcentre@gmail.com
